The chase

She ran from the wind and never looked back
Chasing the horizon as time zones sank beneath
The thrill of fresh footsteps, unknown terrain
Filling up the soul, flowing through the veins

She ran across deserts, wild turfs, dead moments
Gusts of wind blew her dress, into silent denial
Yet she kept on running, step by step, mile by mile
Gasping for air, drowning in pain, yearning for more

Oh the doors slammed shut.. leaving her behind
For what was once a chase, so rash and wild
Now she was but prey, lingering in despair
The hunt began, as their eyes intertwined

Her hair danced softly, to her inner rhythm
A transfer of thoughts, tunneled from within
He chased her to and from, up and above her dreams
The truth drew them closer, as he reached for her lips
